Meat Stuffing (There are 2 Variations)

Prepare like meatballs but without any breadcrumbs or cheese

or

1 lb ground beef
1 lb ground veal
1 lb ground pork
2 eggs for each pound of meat
1/2 cup of rice cooked for 5 minutes and rinsed
Salt and Pepper to taste
1/2 cup minced onions (more or less to taste)
Garlic Salt
Parsley

For Cabbage Leaves

1 head of cabbage

For stewing sauce

1 can tomato soup
1 24oz can tomato sauce
Bacon Toothpicks

Directions:

For stuffing

Mix all ingredients in a bowl and set aside

For Cabbage Leaves

Deeply cut around the core to loosen the leaves
Place the cabbage in a large pan filled with water and bring to a boil
Boil the cabbage to loosen the leaves (if they do not all come off, put the cabbage back in the water for a few minutes)
Drain the leaves and core the cabbage

Putting it all together
Place meat on a cabbage leaf and roll. Add toothpick to secure the leaf and meat
Add bacon to the bottom of a roasting pan
Add in stuffed cabbage leaves
Cover with the tomato soup and tomato sauce
Cover with aluminum foil and place in the over @ 325 for 2 hours

(OPtional) finish cooking on the top of a tove in a frying pan
