* 8 large eggs
* 1 quart buttermilk
* 1 cup sugar
* 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
* 2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries thawed
* 8 cups white bread or sourdough bread
cut into 1/2 inch cubes
* 1 cup of pure maple syrup warmed

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375*f and butter a 9x13 inch baking dish.
In a large bowl , whisk together the eggs , buttermilk , sugar
and vanilla extract. Fold in the blueberries and bread.
Transfer to the prepared dish and cover tightly with aluminum foil.
Bake 30 minutes , uncover , and then bake an additional 10 minutes.
Serve warm with the maple syrup.
Note:
1) We use either French bread or Italian bread and remove the crust.
2) We use frozen blueberries and they come in 2 1/2 cup package
so we use them all and it worked out well.
3) buttermilk can be made by adding 1 Tbsp of vinegar or lemon juice to each cup of regular milk and letting it rest for 15 minutes before adding the homemade buttermilk to the recipe mixture..
