Ingredients:  
1 cup of white rice, uncooked (not minute)
1/2 Tablespoon lard or solid Crisco
Salt and pepper
Garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon cumin
1/3 cup tomato sauce
1 15 oz can chicken broth
1/2 chopped green pepper
1/2 chopped white onion
3/4 cup chopped mushrooms (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
In a frying pan, heat Crisco over medium heat.

Brown rice until edges are lightly brown.

Add salt, pepper and garlic powder to taste.

Sprinkle cumin into rice.

Add tomato sauce and broth, stir.

Add peppers, onion and mushroom, stir.

Cook 10 minutes, checking periodically and stirring to prevent burning.

Cook until broth is absorbed.
