3 c. sugar
1 c. oil
1 (15 oz.) can pumpkin
4 eggs
3½ c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
*1 tsp. cinnamon
*1 tsp. nutmeg
*1 tsp. allspice
*½ tsp. ground cloves
⅔ c. water


*or use 3½ tsp. of pumpkin pie spice instead of these 4 ingredients

Pre-heat oven to 350º. Mix sugar, oil, pumpkin, eggs until fluffy. Mix dry ingredients together, then add alternately with water to the pumpkin mixture.
Grease and flour 2 loaf pans. Bake at 350º for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes, then remove from pans and place on cooling rack.

This is the recipe for the welcome bread that we gave to all of our 1st time visitors at church. Women would take turns baking the bread. Recipe is from our Sisters before us.
