Ingredients:  
* 8 uncooked brats
* one 1 1/2 pound package of Sauerkraut, rinsed and well drained
* 1 cup of peeled and chopped apple
* 4 bacon strips , cooked and chopped
* 1/4 cup of brown sugar
* 1/2 cup of chopped onion
* 1 tsp of ground mustard
* 1 can (6oz) of apple juice
* 8 bratwurst buns , split

Directions:
Directions:
Place brats in a 5 or 6 qt. slow pot. In a large bowl combine the next 7 ingredients and spoon over brats. Cover and cook on low for 6 or 7 hours or until the brats are cooked.
To serve , place brats on buns and using a slotted spoon , top with the sauerkraut.
The sausages can be cut up and served on mashed potatoes topped with the sauerkraut.
Other type sausages can be subbed for the brats.
