2 c. romaine lettuce, chopped
1 c. iceberg lettuce, shredded
2 hard cooked eggs, peeled and coarsely chopped
1 ripe avacado, peeled and cut into ½ inch cubes
2 green onions, sliced thin (optional)
1 medium ripe tomato, seeded and cut in cubes; or ½ c. sliced grape or cherry tomatoes
1 c. cooked, diced or shredded chicken breast (optional)
4 to 6 strips of bacon, cooked until crisp and crumbled
½ c. crumbled blue cheese or diced cheddar, colby, or monterey jack

On a raised edge platter, make a bed of the combined lettuces. Arrange remaining ingredients in rows on top of the lettuce. Drizzle with a creamy Italian or buttermilk ranch dressing.

This is Cindy's favorite salad, minus the onions and blue cheese. That is one reason it is nice to not toss the salad, but let everyone pick out what they like and skip what they don't.
