Ingredients:
Ingredients:
3 large eggs, lightly beaten
½ c. half-and-half
8 slices sourdough bread
3 T. Dijon mustard
3 T. Mayo

½ lb. deli ham or thin sliced baked ham, divided into 4 portions
½ lb. smoked turkey breast or rotisserie chicken breast, sliced, divided into 4 portions
½ lb. shredded Swiss or Gruyere cheese, divided into 8 portions
4 T. butter

Directions:
Directions:
Beat eggs and half-and-half together and pour in a flat platter with a raised edge (like a pie plate). Dip 4 slices of bread into the egg mixture, like you were making french toast; then lay on a sheet of aluminum foil or plastic, egg side down. Combine mayo and mustard and spread on the up side, add sliced ham, top with shredded cheese, add turkey or chicken and top with more shredded cheese. Dip remaining 4 slices of bread in egg mixture, then place on top of the cheese, egg side up.

Slice off the crust, compressing the wet edges of the sandwich. Melt butter in a large skillet or griddle. Cook sandwiches until golden brown, turning once.

Personal Notes:
Kind of a dressed up grilled ham and cheese sandwich made with french toast. Yummy! Serve with a sprinkling of powered sugar and a little fresh fruit for tons of compliments.
