15 whole cloves
20 black peppercorns
3 sticks cinnamon
20 green cardamom pods (crushed or split)
3¼-inch slices of fresh ginger root

6 T black or green tea

Directions:
Bring 2 quarts of water to a boil in a 3-4 quart pot. Add cloves, boil for 1 minute. Add peppercorns, cinnamon, cardamom, and ginger. Cover tightly and boil gently for 2-3 hours. Turn off. Add tea. Allow to steep to desired strength. Strain and serve with milk. Sweeten to taste.
