Banana Cake

2 1/4 c. cake flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. sour milk (to 1/4 c. milk add 1 tsp. vinegar)
1 c. mashed bananas

Directions:

Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and soda. In a separate bowl cream together shortening and sugar. Add eggs, vanilla, milk, and bananas. Mix in dry ingredients. Bake in a greased 9 x 13 pan or in 2 greased layer pans. Bake at 350º for 25 minutes.
 

Peanut Butter Frosting

2 sticks butter, softened
1 c. peanut butter
3 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
2 T. milk

Directions:
Directions:
In a mixing bowl beat together butter, vanilla, and salt. Add powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time. Mix in milk until you reach the desire consistency. Ice cake that has cooled completely.
