2 tsp white vinegar

Directions:

Bring water (enough to cover an egg), to a boil in a saucepan.
Add salt and vinegar.
Reduce heat to medium and get a nice gentle simmer.
Drop the unbroken and still in shell egg into the water for just 8 seconds - not a second longer,
Crack the egg open into a small custard cup or ramekin.
Do not break or damage the yolk.
With a slotted spoon swirl the water to make a gentle whirlpool.
Slide the egg into the eye of the whirl pool. Get near to the surface when you slide in the egg and get into the eye of the swirl as much as possible.
Turn off the heat.
Cover the pan. Do NOT peek, poke, stir or accost the egg in any way,
Set the timer for 5 minutes. Timing is important - not more, not less,
Lift out with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel lined plate to dry.
Serve immediately.
