Cake:
12 egg whites
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. almond flavouring
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. cake flour
1 tsp. vanilla

Sauce:
1 pkg. lemon Jell-O pie filling
1 tsp. lemon juice
2 pkgs. Dream Whip or a large container of Cool Whip

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350ºF (175ºC).

Cake:
Combine egg whites, cream of tartar, salt, and flavouring in a mixing bowl. Beat until mixture can hold a soft peak. Add 1 cup of sugar, beat. Fold in remaining dry ingredients. Bake until brown on top and a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool.

Sauce:
Prepare lemon pie filling according to package instructions, then add lemon juice and let cool. Prepare Dream Whip according to package instructions. When pie filling is cool, fold in Dream Whip.


Serve the cake with sauce poured over it.
