1 c corn meal
1/2 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 small can cream style corn
2 eggs
1 small can green chilies, cut in small pieces
3/4 c buttermilk
1 T bacon drippings
1 c grated cheese

Directions:

Mix all ingredients together and bake in greased pan for 35 minutes at 400˚F.

For 21st century baking purposes: 14.75-oz can of creamed corn; 4-oz can of diced green chilies; Mexican fiesta-blend shredded cheese.
