Chocolate Pound Cake

2 sticks butter, softened
1/2 c. crisco
3 c. sugar
1 c. sweet milk
5 eggs
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
4 T. cocoa
1 T. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together butter, crisco, and sugar. Add milk, vanilla, and eggs. Mix well. In a separate bowl sift together dry ingredients. Slowly add to liquid mixture beating well. Grease and flour an angel food cake pan. Bake in a 325º oven for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Cool on a rack.
 

Chocolate Icing for Pound Cake


Ingredients:

2 sticks butter
3 squares baking chocolate
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/3 box powdered sugar
1/4 c. milk
1/2 c. nuts, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
In a saucepan melt butter and chocolate together. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla. Sift powdered sugar into a large mixing bowl. Pour saucepan mixture over powdered sugar. Beat. Add milk by the tablespoon as needed to reach desired consistency. Stir in nuts. Ice cake.
