Olive Garden Breadsticks Recipe

1 1/2 cups warm water
1 Tbsp instant dry yeast
2 Tbsp sugar
3 1/2 cup all purpose flour, (more or less as needed)
2 Tbsp butter, melted
1 Tbsp salt

Topping:
1/2 cup butter
2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl, place sugar, 3 cup flour, and salt. Mix with paddle attachment of stand mixer or wooden spoon until fully combined. Sprinkle with yeast. Pour warm water and butter over the top. Mix and knead with stand mixer for a few minutes. Add flour a tablespoon at a time until dough pulls away and cleans side of bowl. Knead for 5 minutes.

Spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray. Pull off pieces of dough and roll out into strips. Cover the dough with a light towel and let sit in a warm place for 45 minutes to an hour to allow dough to rest and rise.

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.

Bake Bread sticks 6-7 minutes.

While bread sticks are baking, microwave topping. When bread sticks have cooked, brush the bread sticks with half the butter mixture. Return to oven and bake 5-8 more minutes.

After removing breadsticks from oven immediately brush the other half of the butter topping on the sticks.

Allow to cool for a few minutes before eating.
