4 fresh cucumbers; peeled and sliced into 1/4 inch rounds.
1 small sweet onion, thinly sliced into rings. Cut the outer rings in half.
Salt (I used Kosher salt)
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup chopped fresh dill
2 1/2 Tbsp white vinegar
Freshly ground pepper

Put a large colander into a large bowl. Add the cucumber and onion slices to the colander.
Sprinkle with 1 Tbsp of salt and toss to distribute the salt.
Let stand at room temperature for 2 hours.
Line a baking pan with paper towels and transfer the onions and cucumbers to
Sit on top. Add another paper towel on top.
Pat them dry.
Whisk together the sour cream, dill, vinegar and cracked pepper in a bowl.
Add the cucumbers and onion and mix until well coated.
