2 c sugar
2 eggs
2 1/4 c flour
1 c buttermilk
2 tsp soda
1 c boiling water
1 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
2/3 c crisco (I use 1/12 sticks butter and crisco)
3 Tbs cocoa

2 c white sugar
1 1/2 c butter
1/2 c milk
2 Tbs cocoa

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar shortening and butter. Add eggs, beat till creamy. Add vanilla and stir
Put soda in buttermilk, stir til foamy. Add to creamy mixture.
Sift flour (salt) and cocoa. Add to creamy mixture. Add boiling water, stir until mixed
Cook - in saucepan melt butter, add milk, sugar and cocoa. Boil and Stir about 2-3 minutes.
Cool pan of cold water. Beat until thick. If too stiff add 1 tsp at a time canned milk

Put in 2 - 9" floured pans
Bake 375F for 30-35 minutes
