8 pounds small pickling cucumbers
4 cups water
4 cups distilled white vinegar
3/4 cup white sugar
1/2 cup pickling salt
WRAPPED IN CHEESECLOTH - 3 tablespoons pickling spice
7 1-quart canning jars with lids and rings
7 heads fresh dill
7 cloves garlic

Directions:
Wash cucumbers and put in sterile jars. Process 5 minutes in boiling water. Remove water bath from heat and allow to continue for 5 more minutes before removing jars.

Note:
8/13/18 Added pickling spice straight to vinegar for some of the jars. Need to evaluate. Also added a slice of jalapeno to a 1 jar. Added Xtra Crunch....does it help?

Used dill seed when dill was not available. Also used minced garlic if garlic was not available.
