2 packets of prawns or shrimp deveined
2 cups basmati rice
1 can of coconut milk
2½ cups water
2 onions chopped
4 tbsp. olive oil
2 tsp.. garlic paste
2 tsp. ginger paste
2 tbsp. of lemon juice
1½ tsp. salt
1 tsp. paprika
4 potatoes cut up in quarters.
½ tsp. green chili paste
2 tomatoes chopped
1 cinnamon stick
4 cardamom pods
4 cloves
½ tsp. turmeric
¾ tsp. cumin and coriander powder
1 tsp. cumin seeds
2 tbsp. lemon juice
½ bunch of cilantro chopped
1 tsp. garam masala

Directions:
1. Wash and soak rice for about 15 minutes
2 Wash the shrimps or prawns.
3. Marinate shrimp or prawns with 1 tsp.. of garlic and 1 tsp. ginger, 1 tbsp. lemon juice, 1 tsp. paprika, pinch of salt for about 15 minutes
4. Fry onions. cinnamon stick, cumin seeds, cardamoms and cloves in olive oil. Add 1 tsp. of garlic, 1 tsp. ginger and fry until the onions are golden brown.
5. Add ¾ tsp. of coriander and cumin powder and ½ tsp. of turmeric,
5. Add potatoes at this time and cook for another 2 minutes..
6. Add tomatoes. Once the tomatoes are soft, wash the shrimps and add to tomato mixture.
7. Cook until the shrimps turn pink.
8 Add water and coconut milk and let it come to a boil. Add 1 tbsp. lemon juice, 1½ tsp. salt and garam masala.
5) Add rice and let it boil. Reduce the heat to low and cover until the rice has been cooked.

Serve with kachumber and raita.
