1 lb extra lean ground beef
1 tbsp. fresh crushed garlic
1 tbsp. fresh crushed ginger
1 tsp green chutney
1 tsp cilantro chutney
1 egg
½ bunch of chopped fresh cilantro
½ tsp. of garam masala
½ tsp of black pepper
½ tsp of salt (taste if more salt is needed.)
3 slices of toast or bread, soaked in water and squeezed.
¼ small onion - blended and squeeze out the excess liquid or you can use 1 tsp of onion powder

For Frying
1½ cups of bread crumbs
3 eggs beaten slightly
2 cups oil

Directions:
Directions:
1) Mix all the ingredients well in a mixing bowl and leave aside to marinate for about 30 mins.
2) Take a little mixture in your palms and make patties resembling hamburger patties.
3) Coat with patty with bread crumbs and lay aside on a tray.
4) Heat oil in a large frying Pan.
5) Fry the patties until they are dark brown and put them in colander to remove excess oil.
6) When the patties are cooked, throw the oil out and clean the frying pan.
7) Heat more oil in the frying pan.
8) Dip the patties in the egg and fry them. Using a spatula or skimmer sprinkle oil on the top.
9) Turn the patties on the other side and cook until light brown in colour.
10) Place the patties in a colander to remove excess oil.

Variation: Instead of frying the patties in oil you can broil on both sides until they are dark brown.

Serve with coconut chutney. tamarind chutney and salad.
