**Important** cut off the end of the cucumbers

In each bottle:
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon powdered alum
2 stems of dill

Brine:
5 cups of vinegar
7 cups of water
1/2 cup salt

This makes enough brine for 6 quarts of pickles.
Boil the brine for 2 minutes. Water bath the pickles for 5 minutes.

Optional brine (1 1/2 times the recipe)
3/4 cup salt
7 1/2 cup vinegar
10 1/2 cup water
