4½ c flour
½ tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
1½ c water
½ c milk
oil for frying

Indian Tacos:
1 lb ground beef
½ c chopped onion

30 oz Ranch Style beans (pinto beans in seasoned tomato sauce)
4 oz diced green chilies
4 c shredded cheddar cheese
2 medium tomatoes, chopped
shredded lettuce
salsa

Directions:
Directions:
Mix dry ingredients in a bowl. Stir in the water and milk. Knead several times. Roll out into 5-inch circles. Make a small hole in the center with your fingers. In a skillet, fry in several inches of hot oil at 375°. Dough will puff and bubble. Turn when golden brown. Drain on paper towels and serve hot for tacos or with honey.

To make taco, cook the beef, onion and seasonings over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Stir in beans; cook 5 minutes. Place fry bread on a baking pan; spread each bread with 1/2 cup taco mixture. Sprinkle with cheese and chilies.
Bake at 350° until cheese is melted. Serve with lettuce, tomato and salsa.

(Fry bread is commonly used for making Indian tacos, but is also good with honey butter or cinnamon-sugar and butter for a dessert.)
