1 pkg. active dry yeast
½ c. warm water
½ c. warm milk
1/3 c. shortening or butter, softened.
1 tsp. salt
1 egg
3½ to 4 c. flour



Orange Topping:

1 c. powdered sugar
2 T. margarine
2 tsp. orange peel
1 T. + 1 tsp. orange juice


Creamy Glaze:

¾ c. powdered sugar
2-3 tsp. hot water
1 T. margarine
¾ tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in warm water in large mixing bowl. Stir in milk, sugar, shortening, salt, egg and 2 cups flour. Beat until smooth. Mix in enough remaining flour to make dough easy to handle.
Knead about 5 min. Leave in bowl to raise- about 1 ½ hours. Shape, let rise, and bake and 350º for about 15-20 min., depending on the size you make them.

For Cinnamon Twists: roll into rectangles. Put cinnamon-sugar mix on half, fold other half over. Cut into strips, twist, and bake.
