1/2 cup butter
2 cups sugar
2 cup light cornsyrup
1 can evaporated milk or cream
1/4 tsp baking soda
dash of salt
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Combine butter, sugar, and corn syrup in heavy sauce pan. Heat until dissolved, stirring. Cover pan and continue to cook one minute. Slowly pour in milk or cream, stirring constantly. Add baking soda and salt. Continue to cook on low boil until firm ball stage (235º) Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Pour into a 8 x 8 pan. Cool and cut into squares. Wrap in wax paper or parchment paper.
