1 1/2 cup sugar (part brown)
1 cup walnuts (or other)
1/2 cup shortening
Some gumdrops
2 eggs
coconut (amount as desired)
4 tbs buttermilk
chocolate chips (about 3/4 of 6 oz pkg)
2 1/2 to 3 cups flour

Chill in refrigerator overnight then roll into rolls as thick as you would like or about 1 inch thick as I usually do, then chill again and then cut or break apart and bake in 375º oven.
