"As viscous as motor oil swirled in a swamp, redolent of burnt bell peppers nested in by incontinent mice and a finish reminiscent of the dregs of a stale can of Coca-Cola that someone has been using as an ashtray. Not a bad drink, though."--Excerpt from "The Moose Turd Wine Tasting" by T. A. Nonymous

2 cups cornmeal
3 jalapeno peppers, chopped

2 eggs

3 tsp. baking powder
Buttermilk
1½ tsp. salt

Directions:
Mix all ingredients. Use enough buttermilk to make this the consistency of cornbread batter. Test batter by scooping up a portion on a spoon and with your thumb push portion into medium hot grease. The object of this recipe is to have light, fluffy hushpuppies. If heavy and do not rise enough, use more baking powder. If hushpuppies are greasy and break apart, add more flour. If you want more tang, add some jalapeno pepper juice.
