4 oz cream cheese, cubed and softened
1/3 c minced, dried tomatoes in oil, well drained
2 T fine-chopped walnuts, plus more for garnish
2 T shredded parmesan cheese
1/2 c butter or margarine, softened
1/2 c loosely packed fresh basil leaves, chopped
1/4 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp lemon juice
12 very thin white sandwich bread slices
12 very thin wheat sandwich slices

Directions:
Beat first 4 ingredients at medium speed with an electric mixer until blended. Combine next 4 ingredients until smooth and spreadable. Chill before using. Spread cream cheese mixture evenly on one side of wheat bread slices. Spread 1 side of white bread evenly with basil butter. Press together. Trim crusts. Cut sandwiches with a round cutter, or cut into halves diagonally to make triangles. Roll cut edges in fine-chopped walnuts, if desired.
