1 lb browned ground pork sausage (I use Jimmy Dean Original Sausage Crumbles)
8 large eggs
3 c whole milk
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
8 c French bread, buttered, sliced and cut into cubes
2 c (8 oz) shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided

Directions:
Directions:
Lightly grease a 13-by-9-inch baking dish. Beat eggs, milk and pepper in large bowl with a wire whisk until well blended. Add bread cubes; stir gently until evenly coated. Stir in sausage crumbles and 1-1/2 cups cheese. Pour into greased baking dish; sprinkle with remaining cheese. May refrigerate overnight, tightly covered. Bake 45-55 minutes in oven preheated to 350°F, until knife inserted in center comes out clean. COOL; cut into 12 squares. VARIATION: Add 10-oz pkg of frozen spinach, drained.
