1 c. butter
1 pound brown sugar (2¼ cups)
dash of salt
1 c. light corn syrup
1 can of condensed milk (15 oz)
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
In heavy 3 qt pan melt butter, add sugar and salt. Stir until combined. Stir in corn syrup until combined. Gradually add milk stirring constantly over medium heat ( 12-15 min.) until soft ball stage (245º ). Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla. (add nuts now if desired) Pour into buttered pan (9 by 11) until cool. Then cut. Wrap in wax paper.
