Ground beef
lasagna noodles
1 can of pasta sauce
1 large ricotta cheese container
2 bags mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 egg

Directions:

Saute ground beef in pan

Simmer sauce on low while cooking meat

Add cooked meat to sauce and simmer for ~20-30 min

Cook box of noodles according to directions while simmering sauce and meat together

Preheat oven to 375

In a large bowl mix ricotta and egg together, then mix in parmesan cheese

Spray 9 x 13 pan with Pam

Spoon a little of the sauce/meat mixture on bottom of pan

Place a single layer of noodles
Top noodles with ricotta mixture and a little mozzarella cheese
add layer of sauce/meat mixture and top with a little mozzarella cheese

Keep going to almost top of pan

Then lay last layer:
noodles, then remaining meat & sauce, cover with remaining mozzarella cheese

Cover with foil (spray foil with pam to prevent sticking to cheese)

Bake at 375 degrees for about 40 min - 1 hour until edges of the top layer of noodles are crispy, cheese is golden brown, and internal temp reads

This is the way Pat taught me to make her Murray version lasagna. [Well normally, she sautes onions before sauteing the beef in the same pan. They left onions out for me and everyone still loved it- in fact, Connor & Kevin said it tasted just as good without them.]

However, this website has great photos of the layering process, more detailed instructions, and some great additions to this traditional recipe that I might try next time!
