6 c flour
3 tsp baking powder
1 1/4 tsp salt
3 1/2 tsp anise seed
2 c lard (must be lard, not shortening)
2 eggs
1 1/4 c sugar
3 oz. light rum
1/2 c sugar
1 T cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350F

Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside. Cream sugar and lard. Add eggs then anise seeds. Cream until very fluffy. Combine with flour mixture.

Add rum and knead until dough holds together. Roll on lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes. Dip tops of cookies in a mixture of the cinnamon and sugar. Place on cookie sheet and bake 12-15 minutes or until light brown. Cool on racks.
