2 C. sugar
1 C. water
2 tbsp. butter
⅓ C. cornstarch
C. cold water
4 egg
3 tbsp. milk
C. lemon juice
1 tsp. lemon rind
dash of cream of tartar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup water, and butter together. Separate egg yolks and whites. Add cornstarch, cold water, beaten egg yolks, milk, lemon juice, and lemon rind to the mixture. Cook until clear. Put in 9-inch crust. Beat the 4 egg whites. Add rest of sugar and cream of tartar. Put on top of the pie and bake for 5-10 minutes at 375-400.
