Two TB bacon grease
1/4 cup vermicelli
1 cup jasmine rice
1-2 stalks of celery to taste, chopped.
1/4 chopped onion
1 small potato, diced.
dash onion powder.
two cups chicken broth, or water with bouillon added.

Directions:
Directions:
Saute the vermicelli and rice in the bacon grease for 2-3 minutes, then add onion and celery and cook until translucent. Add chicken broth and cover, lower heat and simmer as you would for 15 mins or until liquid is almost absorbed. Let set for a few minutes then fluff with fork.

I finally got some information from Jeannette on the rice she always used to make. I'm sure anyone who has had it will remember it. Of course I did not get an actual recipe, so this is my best guess and I think it's pretty close! It was like traveling back in time when I tasted it
