Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1/2 gallon sherbert (any flavor for color you want) pineapple is Brenda's favorite
1 quart vanilla ice cream (Brenda uses 1/2 gallon)
32 oz pineapple juice (chilled)
2 (2 liter) Sprite or Ginger Ale (chilled)

Directions:
Directions:
Soften sherbert and mix with pineapple juice. (I usually do 1/2 ingredients for each punch bowl). Pour Sprite or Ginger Ale over the mixture in the punchbowl to make a foam. Dip spoonfuls of vanilla ice cream over the toop of the punch and stir gently. Continue to stir lightly as you serve the punch.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This punch has been used for family showers, birthdays, weddings, anniversaries for well over 50 years. Jean was the first to introduce us to the recipe. Matt has always said it was his favorite punch. Everyone we have served brags on it. The vanilla ice cream is the key to the creaminess of the punch. I have used orange sherbert, lime, and pineapple. Depending on the color and taste you prefer, you could even use the rainbow sherbert, however the punch will not look as pretty in the bowl.
