2/3 cup melted butter
3 cups stale bread crumbs
1 tsp grated onion
1 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp paprika
1 l/2 pints oysters
1/3 cup oyster liquid
1/3 cup cream

Directions:
Directions:
Combine butter, bread crumbs, onion and seasonings. Drain oysters, reserving 1/3 cup liquid.
Place a layer of oysters in a greased shallow baking dish; top with a layer of bread crumbs and then remaining oysters.
Pour oyster liquid and cream over layers. Top with remaining crumbs and sprinkle with paprika
Bake in a moderate oven 375 degrees (350 electric oven) for 25 to 30 minutes or until browned.

Don't fix this recipe while 3 months pregnant. I did when expecting Todd and have not had a bite of oyster since
then! It was the sight, not the taste!

The homemakers always saw that either Jean or Ivs Lee Owsley baked this dish for our Christmas dinner. It was a favorite of many club members and their families.
