1 cup water
1 cup milk
1 large egg
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons sugar
Pinch of nutmeg , 4 - 6 cups vegetable oil, Confectioners' sugar for sprinkling

Directions:
Directions:
Combine the water, milk and egg in a large mixing bowl and mix well. Add the flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and nutmeg and mix until the batter is smooth. Heat the oil in a large deep pot or deep fryer to 360 degrees. Drop the batter by spoonfuls into the hot oil, a few at a time and fry until they are golden brown, turning 2-3 times. Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with confectioners' sugar.
