1-1/2 to 2 pounds beef stew meat
Carrots
Celery
Potatoes
Onions
2 small cans V8 juice or tomato juice
2 Tablespoons tapioca, cornstarch or flour
1 teaspoon sugar
Salt and pepper to taste

Cut vegetables into large chunks. Put all ingredients together in tightly covered oven-safe dish. Bake at 250 for 4 hours.
