1 lb. extra-lean ground beef
1 medium onion chopped
½ cup thinly sliced celery
⅓ cup chopped green pepper
2 cups shredded cabbage
¾ cup catsup
¼ cup water
¼ tsp salt
1 tblsp prepared mustard
8 hamburger buns

Directions:
Directions:
Brown the meat, onion, celery, and green pepper in a nonstick skillet until it is lightly browned. Drain off any fat that has accumulated in the skillet. Add the cabbage.-Combine catsup, water, salt and mustard; stir into the meat and vegetables.
-Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Split and toast buns. To serve, spoon the mixture on the bottom halves of buns and top with remaining halves.

Variation: A similar version of Sloppy Joes, without cabbage, calls for 1 tsp. Worchestershire sauce, 1 tsp. vinegar and ½
tsp. garlic salt to be added to the catsup and mustard mixture.
