Ingredients:  
⅓ cup shortening
cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cups sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
tsp. baking soda
tsp. salt
1 cup mashed ripe banana
cup chopped walnuts
1 tsp. vanilla (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together shortening and sugar; add eggs and beat well. Sift together dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture alternating with banana, blending well after each addition. Fold in nuts. Pour into a well-greased 9x5x3-inch loaf pan.

Bake at 350 for 45-50 minutes or till done.
