5 cups of flour
2 pinches of salt
6 teaspoons baking powder (rounded)
2 cups of water
1/2 cup of powdered milk (rounded)
1 egg
Shortening the size of 2 1/2 eggs

Directions:
Directions:
Mix dry ingredients well, blend in shortening. Beat egg with fork and mix well with water. Add to dry ingredients and mix well. Place on floured board, roll about 1/2" thick, cut with floured 2" biscuit center. Bake in greased and floured pan. (Dough will seem very sticky, but biscuits come out very tender.) Bake at 425 º for 15-20 minutes.



My Mom (Tarry Gasper Hartwell) used 2 cups of milk instead of water and powdered milk and they turned out great.
