1/4 cup cornstarch
2 Tablespoons olive oil
1/2 Teaspoon diced garlic (more if you like garlic)
3/4 cup soy sauce (I use low sodium)
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 cup water
1 cup grated carrots
1-1/2 lbs. flank steak sliced thinly
Sliced green onions for garnish (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Slice flank steak in thin strips and place in a large zip-lock bag. Add the corn starch and shake to coat the meat thoroughly. Set aside.

In a large crock pot add remaining ingredients and stir to mix. Add sliced meat and stir to mix evenly. Cook on high for 3-4 hours. Serve over rice or noodles.

Use boneless, skinless chicken (cut into chunks) add one can pineapple tidbits with juice. Add a little more cornstarch to thicken. I also added chopped green peppers
