1 stick margarine
1 sm. onion, diced
1/2 c. celery, diced
1/2 c. flour
2 cans (14 3/4 oz.) chicken broth
2 c. cooked wild rice (I use Uncle Ben's)
1/2 c. grated carrots
1 T. slivered almonds
1 c. cream
Salt and pepper
Dash cayenne pepper

Melt butter in saucepan and saute onion and celery until tender. Stir in flour until smooth. Add broth in gradual amounts, stirring after each addition. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly until slightly thickened and smooth. Stir in cooked rice, carrots and almonds. Simmer 5-10 minutes. Stir in cream and season to taste. Heat through and thin with milk if needed.
