1 1/2 pounds rump steak (can also use round or chuck)
2 Tbsp flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp freshly ground pepper
3 Tbsp Shortening
1 1/2 cups canned stewed tomatoes
1 onion sliced

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 325 F degrees.
Trim any excess fat from steak.
Combine the flour, salt and pepper.
Sprinkle half the flour mixture on one side of the meat and pound it with a meat tenderizing mallet.
Turn the meat over and repeat flouring and pounding on the other side.
Melt the shortening in a Dutch Oven.
When hot add the meat and brown over medium heat until both sides are well browned.
Add the tomatoes and onion.
Cover.
Place in the oven for two hours or until tender.
