Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
I remember gathering around the kitchen and putting all of the ingredients in. We just about passed out when we smelled everything and were a little afraid that the house would explode when it was lit on fire. We had to sample it before it had cured and it was quite strong! After it set, it was good on a cold day after shoveling or playing outside. We also would sometimes just take out the raisins and eat those to get a little drunk. Occasionally we would use them in cooking and it would be a little surprise!

Other variations include adding 1 1/2 cups brown sugar or 6-10 sugar cubes, 6 prunes, orange peel and by using either rum or brandy.
