2 cups Sugar
1 cup Butter
2 Eggs
1 lb Raisins (boiled 15 minutes – keep enough water on raisins to make 1 cup liquid)
1 cup Chopped Nuts
5 cups Flour
2 teaspoons Baking Powder
2 teaspoons Baking Soda
2 teaspoons spice of any kind
2 teaspoons Cinnamon
1 teaspoon Vanilla

Icing:
2 tablespoons Shortening
2 tablespoons Butter
2 tablespoons Milk
2 tablespoons boiling Water
2 tablespoons Flour
1/2 cup Sugar
1 teaspoon flavouring, any kind

Directions:
Directions:
1. Combine sugar, butter and eggs then add vanilla.
2. Add raisins and juice.
3. Sift dry ingredients together and add gradually.
4. Bake in tube pan at 250 degrees for 2 1/2 hours.
