1 4 ox. package Baker's German sweet chocolate
1/2 cup water
4 eggs, flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 cup butter, softened
2 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup buttermilk

ICING
12 oz. evapoated milk
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
4 egg yolk
3/4 cup butter
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cup pecans, toasted
2 cup coconut, toasted

Grease three8"or 9" round cake pans and cover bottoms with parchment paper. Melt chocolate and water in the microwave. Beat egg whites with, set aside. Mix flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg yolks, one at a time, after beating. Blend in chocolate mixture and vanilla. Add flour mixture, alternating with buttermilk. Beat until blended. Stir in egg whites. Pour into three pans. Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees or until toothpick comes out clean. Take out of pan after 15 minutes. Cool completely before icing.

ICING
Mix everything except pecans and coconut in saucepan. Cook on low until thick. Add coconut and pecans. Spread on layers.
