Directions:
Mix dry ingredients in bowl. Blend in butter with pastry blender or fingers till course. Beat in egg yolks. Chill.
Prepare filling: Grind almonds once, then grind a second time with powdered sugar. Blend thoroughly with beaten egg whites until mixture is firm and smooth. Chill.

Place 2/3 of the chilled dough into a 6-8-inch round un-greased cake pan, covering bottom and slightly up sides. Spread almond mixture evenly over dough. Roll remainder of the dough in a circle to 1/8-inch thickness and cut into 8 strips, 1/2-inch wide. Lay four of the strips parallel to each other across the top of the filling. Arrange remaining 4 strips, weaving to form a lattice pattern. Cut another 1/2-inch-wide strip and place around edge of cake. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
