Chuck Roast enough for your family 2- 4 pounds
1 pound of carrots cut in 3 inch sticks or baby carrots
Potatoes peeled and cut in half
1 large onion
1 medium sized cabbage
salt and pepper
1 Tablespoon shortening or oil.

Directions:
Directions:
Sear roast in pressure cooker on both sides in oil or shortening. Add potatoes, onion cut in half, and carrots. Cut cabbage in wedges (remove center core and discard). Add water to pressure cooker to cover potatoes, about two tea glasses full of water. Salt and pepper to taste. Pressurize for 55 minutes. You can put in crockpot until done. A family favorite when we were kids. Mother said she got this recipe from a lady that was Indian that lived near her in Altamont Kansas when I was a child.
*When I make mine, I add a pkg of dry French onion soup and a pkg of dry brown gravy mix before I pour water over the food to be pressurized, (Evelyn).
