2 C. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
¼ C. shortening
1 C. less 2 T of milk

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 450º. Mix together dry ingredients. Cut in shortening to texture of coarse crumbs.
Add milk and stir in with a fork. Turn dough out on a lightly floured board. Knead just until smooth.
Pat out to about ¾ inch thick. Cut with a cutter and place on a lightly greased baking sheet.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes. Makes about 10 biscuits.

Buttermilk Biscuits:
Same recipe as above, except: Reduce baking powder to 2 tsp. and add ¼ tsp. soda.
Replace milk with 1 cup buttermilk.
