1 C shortening
1 C brown sugar
1 C sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1¼ C flour
1 tsp. soda
½ tsp. salt
½ tsp. cinnamon
3 C oats
½ C nuts(optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Cream shortening and sugars, then add vanilla and eggs and mix well. Mix dry ingredients together and add to creamed mixture. Mix well.Add oats and nuts. Drop rounded spoonfuls on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake for 12 minutes or until set. For crisper cookies bake a little longer.
