2/3 c. shortening or margarine (I use butter)
2 1/2 c. sifted cake flour
1 2/3 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 1/4 c. fully ripe bananas (smashed)
2/3 c. buttermilk
2 eggs
2/3 c. chopped walnuts (I don't use nuts)

Directions:
Directions:
1. Stir shortening, sift in dry ingredients.
2. Add bananas, and 1/2 the buttermilk. Mix with mixer, beat on high 2 minutes.
3. Add remaining buttermilk and eggs. Beat 2 minutes.
4. Fold in nuts. Pour into 13x9 pan.
5. Bake at 350º for 35 minutes.

Frost with chocolate frosting.
